Publix Debuts in Dothan October 6

Montgomery, Alabama – The simultaneous opening of two new retail centers anchored by Publix Super Markets is slated for Wednesday, October 6th at 8:00 am, according to Aronov Realty Management, the developer responsible for bringing the highly successful and widely acclaimed supermarket chain to Dothan. Along with Publix, 20 retailers providing a wide array of dining, shopping and personal services, will open at the two new retail centers, Westway located at Highway 84 and John D. Odom Road and Cottonwood Corners located at Ross Clark Circle and Cottonwood Road. Grand Opening ceremonies begin at 7:30 am with the store openings at 8:00 am.
In addition to the traditional grocery, meat, produce, dairy and frozen food departments, the new 54,340 square-foot Publix at Westway Shopping Center and the new 45,600 square-foot Publix at Cottonwood Corners will feature pharmacy, bakery, deli, floral and fresh seafood departments. Approximately 224 associates will be employed at the two new stores. “We are proud of our 80-year history, rich in providing superior customer service and delivering a high quality selection of foods, products and services,” said Media and Community Relations Manager, Dwaine Stevens. “Our core philosophy remains the same: we strive to be your grocer of choice, and are eager to serve our neighbors in Dothan – becoming your Publix.” To commemorate their opening in Dothan, Publix will grant 15 local area schools $500 each to use toward the purchase of school supplies. These schools are Ashford Elementary, Cloverdale Elementary, Dothan High, Faine Elementary, Girard Avenue Elementary, Grandview Elementary, Herd Elementary, Hidden Lakes Elementary, Highland Elementary, Kelly Springs Elementary, Landmark Elementary, Montana Elementary, Rehobeth Elementary, Selma Street Elementary and Webb Elementary.

In addition to Publix, the Westway center will feature twelve stores and restaurants including Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Things and Wings, China Dragon, Westside Spirits, Hungry Howie’s, Cuts by Us, Nail Boutique, Express Cleaners, Subway, Cherokee Scrubs 101, Rodeo Mexican Restaurant and California Yogurt Kraze.
Cottonwood Corners will feature eight stores and restaurants in addition to Publix including Palm Beach Tan, China Dragon, Tropical Smoothie, Nice Nails & Spa, Simple Simon Pizza, GoldFingers, Chill Yogurt and Kinza Japanese.
These stores and restaurants will open either on October 6 with Publix or over the next sixty to ninety days, according to Steve Wallace, Aronov’s Leasing Representative for the property.
Publix hours of operation at both stores are 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday through Sunday. Grand Opening Day hours will be 8:00 am to 10:00 pm with a grand opening ceremonies beginning at 7:30 am. Pharmacy hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday; 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday; and 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday.
