Montgomery, Alabama - Starbucks, the world’s premier provider of fine coffee, will open a 1,750 square foot retail location at Zelda Place shopping center, according to Aronov Realty Management. Construction of the free-standing store has begun with an opening scheduled for September 2005. The new Starbucks location will offer indoor bistro seating as well as outdoor patio seating serving their famous coffees, cappuccinos, teas, and pastries. The Zelda Place Starbucks will be the only location with convenient drive-through service serving central Montgomery.

Aronov also announced that CVS, America’s #1 pharmacy, will open an expanded, free-standing 11,970 square foot location at Zelda Place. CVS will move from their current location in the former Hillwood Center, which is now part of the Zelda Place expansion. The new free-standing CVS location will offer an expanded selection of convenience-oriented merchandise in its newest store format. The new store is scheduled to open in July.

Starbucks and the new CVS will join a 45,600 square foot Publix and other new small shop tenants, such as restaurants and personal services, in the newly expanded Zelda Place. Publix is slated for a November 2005 opening. Aronov is continuing to add retailers and restaurants to the center and more announcements will be made at a later date.

The expansion of Zelda Place is designed to meet the increased demand for retailing in Montgomery’s midtown area. The shopping center is expanding southward to Carter Hill Road, and is encompassing the former Hillwood Center. All existing Zelda Place and former Hillwood Center buildings will be remodeled, and others will be added to create an expanded Zelda Place that runs a half-mile south along Zelda Road to Carter Hill Road. New entrances in the expanded center located in the heart of the upscale, trendy midtown market will also be added and streets widened to enhance traffic flow. The Zelda Place expansion is scheduled for a November 2005 completion.
