Dothan’s Second Publix-Anchored Shopping Center Officially Breaks Ground, Retailers Announced

Release Date: May 12, 2010

Montgomery, Alabama – With shovels of dirt tossed by local dignitaries, the groundbreaking of Dothan’s second Publix-anchored shopping center is now official. In fact, construction is well underway on the 76,740 square foot shopping center located at the corner of Highway 84 and John D. Odom Road. Representatives from Montgomery-based developer Aronov Realty Management, Inc., Publix Super Markets, Inc., Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, and Houston County and City of Dothan officials were on hand for the event. The new shopping center will be anchored by a 54,340 square foot Publix Supermarket and will offer 22,400 square feet of leasable space for other national, regional and local retailers to provide a complement of everyday goods and services to the area.

“We are pleased to bring Publix and the newest and most exciting collection of retail to Dothan,” stated John Argo, Vice President of Retail Development with Aronov Realty Management, Inc. The shopping center developer recently announced that Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Things and Wings, China Dragon, Westside Spirits, Hungry Howies, Cuts by Us, Nail Boutique, and Express Cleaners will join Publix in the retail line up at Westway. “We will continue to add new retailers to the center that will enhance the shopping experience for area residents,” Argo continued.

The shopping center is slated for a Fall 2010 opening.
